So we wanted to go bird watching in Texas. We started from Welaka FL.

It was a long way to Texas from there. We had the birds so we traveled along the Gulf coast. We enjoyed the warm weather and the local fare of Mudbugs. We camped the second night around Houston. I wasn’t really enjoying those mudbugs at that point. The campground was an RV place. The type with concrete pull ins, no trees ( it was the Texas coast) but the bathrooms were really nice.

We passed a large Beef Jerky place and were sad that we didn’t stop. So we stopped at this H.E.B. store to get some here and we got to see our first Texas bird.

We drove down to Boca Chica Texas because we heard that there were big birds there. We had found a place called the Rocket Ranch. Rocket Ranch is right on the Rio Grande River. There is a bend in the river so part of Mexico was actually North of where we were going to stay. Before going to the ranch, we drove down to the beach to look for birds. Didn’t find any, just a bunch of silver towers taking up space.
